Welcome to the fourteenth BloodThirsty Vegans newsletter. October 2010 Edition.
The BloodThirsty Vegans (BTVs) is a musical family that makes music (sweet, sweet music)
about peace, love and understanding to unite the human family, foster respect for
the interconnected web of life, and remind the tribes how liberating it was to
dance the dances of freedom.
Currently the BloodThirsty Vegans are My Rap Name is Alex,
Janna "MC Vendetta" Willoughby, Dave Harter, Ben Sachs,
Bryan "Brrrn" Lohr & Kaitlyn Marie Gardner
and sometimes Michael Delaney or Liz Bailey.
Contacting BloodThirsty Vegans directly is pretty simple.
We are all regular visitors to our facebook page.
We design and operate our own website at bloodthirstyvegans.com
that has message forums where you can
leave messages for us or other BTV friends and fans. We also have
myspace and twitter.

Weeeee're back!
We're very sorry about not getting a newsletter out in either of the last two months.
We almost had a September newsletter, but it just never quite came together.
But now we're back and back on track.

New Lyrics video for Silence
All of a sudden lyrics videos have become very popular. Maybe that Cee Lo
Green lyrics video that came out last month --the one with all the charming
profanity-- that got millions of hits had something to do with it. But way before that one ever came out
we were hard at work on a lyrics video of our own for our song Silence.
Ours probably won't get the millions and millions of hits that that one did,
but we will appreciate every single hit that we do actually get.
Click here to check it out
Also, starting next month we are going to have a new section in the BTV newsletter called
"Direct from the BTV video vault" where we will share all kinds of cool
BTV footage.
For now --to whet your appetite-- check out this video
starring Janna. And you can subscribe to our YouTube channel if you
want to see everything we put out.

More BTV clothes on the way.
Brrrn has recently acquired a silk screening press and boy do we
ever intend to use it. We've had a lot of requests for shirts with the BTV bunny logo on it
and we're working on some of those.
In the meantime we have sold a
whole bunch of what has come to be affectionately knows as the "meat tree" shirt
(Brrrn and Janna want to make absolutely certain that they are never confused for actual
vegans). We're still working on getting our online store up so if anyone
wants to be a t-shirt model holla at cha Vegans.

We're not going to go into a lot of detail on three months worth of shows.
But we will take a quick spin through.
October 1st we had Dance Alive which was almost like an after party for
the anti-imperialism rally downtown.
Before that we went to central NY to do a couple shows in mid September. We
played a show for the Utica Music & Arts Fest where an audience suddenly materialized
from out of nowhere. The next day we played a street corner in Syracuse in preparation for
our show in the basement of the 560 house. Fun times.
We played to a pretty large audience again this year at the Music is Art Festival.
We played two songs, both of which can actually be seen on our youtube channel
here and here.
Our annual trip out to Grand Island, NY went really well this year. We shared an
amazing afternoon of music as part of an awesome bill that included Lara Buckley,
Gruvology, Latin Jazz Project and the 12/8 Path with a special appearance by the Maiolas.
In the beginning of September we played a nice club show at the Elmwood Lounge.
We took most of August off, but we did manage to play a really cool party for
Scott and Sarah thanks to Rita Buckley winning us at the Silent Auction at last
year's Lizzard Ball. And in the beginning of August we somehow managed to
field a team and play BEATFest without Dave.
In July there was the Buffalo infringement Festival where Janna performed about
a million times including two performances with us on a jam packed Sunday in
the Allentown neighborhood of Buffalo.

We're not likely to remember everyone we've had gratitude for over the last three
months, but that won't deter us from trying.
Gratitude to Sophia, Music is Art
Festival, Utica Music and Arts Festival, the 560 House in Syracuse, our friends
in Binghamton, the UU church of Buffalo, all of the people on our forum/website/networks,
all of our local activist friends, dancers, teachers, June Licence & Roger Cook,
the Buckleys, BEATFest Festival, Ol Wondermoth Housing Coop, Mike Mulley, everybody
at what used to be Nobody's, Elmwood Lounge, the Toddler Army and the adults who
watch over them, really free markets everywhere, Jim from Whiskey Reverb,
all the people we met on that random street corner in Syracuse, and everybody else. I think that
covered all of our bases.

Go love someone. Peace.
