Welcome to the ninth BloodThirsty Vegans newsletter. March 2010 Edition.
The BloodThirsty Vegans (BTVs) is a musical family that makes music (sweet, sweet music)
about peace, love and understanding to unite the human family, foster respect for
the interconnected web of life, and remind the tribes how liberating it was to
dance the dances of freedom.
Currently the BloodThirsty Vegans are My Rap Name is Alex,
Janna "MC Vendetta" Willoughby, Dave Harter, Ben Sachs,
Bryan "Brrrn" Lohr & Kaitlyn Marie Gardner
and sometimes Michael Delaney or Liz Bailey.
Contacting BloodThirsty Vegans directly is pretty simple.
We are all regular visitors to our facebook page.
We design and operate our own website at bloodthirstyvegans.com
that comes complete with message forums where you can
leave messages for the band as well as other BTV friends and fans. And we
also maintain pages on myspace and twitter.
ICE MAZE!
Holy grass-fed Cow! Dave has been building a GINORMOUS ICE MAZE in
downtown Buffalo. Okay. Okay. It's not _JUST_ Dave, and it's not _JUST_
an Ice Maze. Dave and hundreds of other volunteers have been building the
MOST GIGANTIC ICE MAZE EVER for Buffalo's 1st Annual Winter Powder Keg
Festival. (Under the watchful eye of the people from Guinness Book of
World Records.) Come down and see the Ice Maze for yourself, and tube
down the last skyway exit ramp while you're at it.
BloodThirsty Vegans
will be playing the heated music tent on Saturday from 2:30 to 4:00pm
and Dave is asking that any fans that have a BTV t-shirt please wear it
to the show so that we can photograph it for our website.
website
We are snazzying up our website. It was already great, but we're going to
see what we can do to make it even nicer. We've already improved the
look of things and started adding a bunch more information. We've got a
lot more in store so keep checking back.
facebook
So back in the beginning of January we reported that we had 500 friends
on our facebook
page. In the beginning of February we realized we were already
getting close to 600. So we decided to do a friend drive to see if we
could get over 600. And we did. And then our friends started telling
their friends and all of a sudden we had over 700. And it's not even
the end of February and we have gone past 750. This really helps our
band a lot to have an active and enthusiastic facebook page. Not to
mention the fact that it makes us feel good.

the link where we will post info on upcoming shows when we know it.
We've only done two of our February shows at this point. We'll tell you
about tonight and tomorrow's shows next month. Here's what we did in
February so far.
Dance Alive!
Sure. We could tell you all about it, but a video is worth a million words.
Especially this one.
Don't forget, next Dance Alive is March 5th.LightShow!
So we show up to an empty space.
The people begin trickling in amongst the droves of purple balloons.
All of a sudden a funky jam sets in.
People begin tapping their feet.
We start out rockadociously, altering the atmosphere of the room.
More foot tapping, head bobbing begins.
A few brave dancers weave through the balloons.
Mid-set the balloons are dipping and swirling around the room,
constant motion, dancers slipping into any available spaces,
chemical reactions occurring in brains, lead more bodies
to the dance floor, finding unknown balloon partners,
spinning and jiving, jumping and diving,
skipping and dipping and playing and high-fiving,
until finally our set skids to our water-landing death scene,
the kick drum, snare hit, cymbal crash, and laughter.
What a strange lovely accident of fortune.
